Ive known maxine since i was 12 we use to be really good friends when she moved away we did loose contact but when i knew her wouldn even touch a cigarette let alone drugs! I was shocked when i heard this and still didn believe it till i read several articles she was always a sweet kind girl and always walked away at the sightof trouble never even picked a fight so i dnt for 1 second think shes a cold blooded killer just got in the wrong crowd and im sure if she wasnt on the drink or drugs she wudn have performed such an act

I was a bartender for seven years before gradutating from school and when I noticed bizarre behaviour from customers, I would confirm that there was a full moon at the time. Strange people would come into the bar with violent behaviour before taking their first drink. One day in particular I a man walked into the bar and sat a huge butcher knife on my bar and then orderd a Jack and Coke. I calmly made him a strong Jack with a splash of coke and as I slowly sat it in front of him I slid the knife away without a word. Then I called security as he sat alone and drank his coctail. I was alone in the bar of an expensive hotel lobby bar on a river walk. This was early in the day on a full moon and the man was taken away by a big burly security guard in minutes. There were no othere customers in the bar. He was a man with dirty long hair and I was a young lady in my twenties dressed scantily in my uniform. I was afraid of him and did not want to see what happened after he added alcohol to his mood. Thankfully, security did their job and removed him and the big knife from the bar area. The gesture of asking for a drink by placing a knife on the bar was taken as a threat by me and I took my time protecting myself in the manner I felt best. The man had never been there before the full moon.

I used to work at a mental hospital, and a lot of times they could not see outside, but they could not tell if it was a full moon or not. But they did act stranger or excuse my mouth or crazery. My husband says it only has to do with fishing, but I do not believe that. His moods change and so do mine. That’s while I call it full moon madness. If anyone wants let me know if anyone feals the same way. God bless you all

Yeah I must say that it was shocking to hear that Maxine & Rochelle had been arrested for something like this. My heart goes out to James and family.

I tend to believe that it all comes down to alcohol, and everything just escalated beyond anyone’s imagination.

From what I remember of Maxine, she was always a nice and polite girl. The same also goes for Rochelle. They weren’t terrorists on St. John’s estate… They were just teenage girls.

This was a crazy and disturbed night. Things obviously got out of control… And now both Maxine and Rochelle will have to live with this for the rest of their lives.

The way things turn out is just crazy. From teenagers hanging-around outside the ‘Posty’, to behind prison doors for years to come.

The sad thing is… Their lives are basically finished.
At such a young age, they will (even by now) have conformed to prison-life, and before this incident happened, they were (believe it or not) such sweet girls. That is all gone now.

Why were they running around, drunk and so very angry?
Where were their parents? Why on an estate, where so many people were in and out of prison, hooked on drugs and where crime had been taking place, was there no support for these young people?

St. John’s estate holds many dark-stories.

Now, I think the entire place has been cleaned up.
Alley-ways have been blocked up and I think now, the cameras actually work.

Maxine and Rochelle used to hang around, and me and my friends would see them almost daily. From time to time, we would spend days and nights with these two girls.

We got in to trouble from time to time… And maybe had some mouths on us, but in this day and age, who doesn’t? We would have seemed like ‘Thugs’ to some elderly and well-to-do people… But I can say, that never once did I ever see an evil or aggressive bone in either Maxine and Rochelle, the whole time I’ve known them.

Regardless, I have no doubt that these girls feel remorse and are withstanding the psychological impact of all the pain, grief and misery they have caused.

It’s absolutely mad, the way life can turn out.

I spent 5 years in prison with many child sex offenders and rapists. Not one of them had gone to church throughout his whole life. And those who had been the most involved (which wasn’t all that much) appeared to be innocent anyway.

It seems to me that more and more, across the globe, truth is less important than hitting conviction targets. We the public believe (for the most part) that the police and judiciary are there for our protection and that we are ‘innocent until proven guilty’.

Yet time after time cases come to light where terrible miscarriages of justice are perpetrated because of the psychological aspects of human beings rather than a reliance on good solid evidence.

It would appear that a confident and assertive lawyer who presents circumstances (which can be interpreted several ways) as irrefutable facts which have only one interpretation are most likely to win – regardless of truth!

I don’t think it is the video games i think it is the parenting, and the stability of the adolesence’s mind, i am 16 and i have had anger issues since i could walk and i use violent video games to keep me from doing things to people in real life that i would in the video games so i think that violent video games are helpfull in way’s they relieve stress and they reliev anger and bottled up feelings.

Maybe because the police trap these men in their weak moments into wanting a 15 year old. We live in a society where 15 year old singers are considered sex symbols. When talking online it is all fantasy, they don’t even know what 15 is, they just like that someone is talking to them and making them feel desired. They are stressed out men who don’t have time to go to bars so they talk to people online and don’t think.

I think that drawing pictures like that as a teenager is a lot more troublesome than doing it as a child.
However, a case should not depend on psychological profiling alone; it should be based on ALL of the evidence (physical and psychological).

I am amazed that linguistics is considered as a part of forensic sciences, and more so that it is used to deal with real life criminal cases.

I go with Alan E. Even I am interested in understanding how forensic linguistics is validated, i.e., one of the tougher/straighter questions I have is – how do you know that a text has been written by a specific person.

There is a definite need to understand the research grounding on which this stands, before we can learn anything practical.

Correct me in case I am wrong.

Hey great comments guys, it’s all really good evidence for my media investigation. I reckon that video games are, like so many have you have said, a scapegoat. To me it simply seems that they are being used a scapegoat. Something wrong in the world? Bet your bottom dollar someone will find a way to relate it back to video games. All the crimes that are video game related, the criminals have usually had troubled backgrounds, playing inappropriate games (young gamers playing adult rated games), or have been playing the game for days and nights on end. All these seem to me to be the greater contributer to them committing crimes, not their game time play. So yeah that’s all.

Well I don’t think that violence can be directly caused by video games. If you were to look at the population of kids that play video games, you would find that it’s quite a large percentage. So does that make all kids killers? There are ratings on video games for a reason, and according to law, children under the age of 18 aren’t supposed to be able to buy Mature rated games (though I’m not naive enough to believe that this is always upheld). But like someone has stated earlier, you don’t hear people blaming violent tv programs or rated R movies.

However, I don’t think that it helps gamers (I am one myself) for them to go “Me personally I’m not a violent person and I play video games” so just for the warning, that doesn’t help. Just use reason and logic to win the argument.
